Narita International Airport in Tokyo prepares for the 2020 Games in Olympic style

In anticipation of the 2020 games in Tokyo, Narita International Airport opened a new terminal on April 8 to help handle the anticipated load of athletes and spectators.

The terminal was constructed around an indoor running track, with no moving walkways or illuminated signs for direction. Instead, the track lanes are color-coded: blue for departures, red for arrivals.

White stenciled symbols, reminiscent of the Games' iconic symbols for specific events, mark each lane to indicate a final destination. For example, a passenger following the track lane marked with a white stencil of a suitcase will reach the end at baggage claim.
