The Tsunago lets you combine pencil stubs into full-length versions


We all hate to write using tiny pencil stubs, and end up throwing them away even though it’s a waste of wood and resources. The Tsunago pencil sharpener lets you combine multiple pencil stubs to eliminate waste.

Rather than throwing out your almost used-up utensil, the new design by Nakajima Jkyudo integrates the two using wood glue to keep them connected. It was designed from the perspective of the Japanese concept mottainai, meaning “a sense of regret over waste.”
