The WavCatcher improves your cell signal on highways and in remote locales

“A man walks into a bar and…loses all his bars.”

If that's not funny to you because you've lost signal too many times, Fairfield's WavCatcher may be for you. It's a smartphone case that wraps receiver material around your cellphone to enhance the signal and offer improved data coverage. Their campaign page shows an existing prototype with transparent case compatible with iPhones 5, 5s and 6.

WavCatcher's inventor, Dr. Sheng Y. Ping, is credited with over 20 existing and pending patents. The case leverages his latest invention, which improves broadband signal over a small form factor. The case enables traveling further distance without dropping calls or losing connection, and has been tested on highways and in remote areas with low reception.
