The celebrity chef speaks to PSFK about his creative collaboration with startup Cheeky

When it comes to hosting a BBQ or picnic in the park, the majority of consumers are unlikely to think twice about their options for paper plates. If they’re sturdy, available in bulk and affordable for the occasion, the tableware ticks the box for basic functionality. What paper plates are lacking —until now—is eye-catching color or design to set them apart from alternatives. Enter Cheeky, a vibrant line of table setting products with a social mission to end hunger in America.

The startup, backed by acclaimed chef Mario Batali, promises to donate a meal to someone in need with each purchase. Within the first six months of launch in Target, Cheeky is responsible for donating two million meals across the country so we were hungry to learn more. PSFK spoke with Batali and Cheeky CEO PJ Brice about their collaboration and vision for the new line.
