Virgin Trains has launched a Lycra prototype that wraps under the chin and helps decrease hair-drag

Virgin Trains in the U.K. has developed ‘the Beard Cap' for swimmers in time for the Great North Swim, Europe’s biggest open water swimming event, which takes place in the Lake District from June 12-14. The swimming cap was created for bearded men who find their facial hair hinders their speed in the water.

The innovative swim cap, made from Lycra, wraps under the chin and packs the wearer's beard against their face to decrease drag whilst swimming. Reusable and adjustable, the unique prototype has been designed to keep bushy beards under control. Its bold design and bright red color, which matches Virgin's logo, also ensures that the wearer stands out while swimming.
