Bike Rack Reminds Commuters a Parking Space Fits 10 Bikes
Car Bike Port highlights the benefits of bikes over cars
Bicycles are taking over the world’s cities. Bicycles provide cleaner, healthier, and sustainable transportation while reducing traffic congestion at the same time. The U.K. design firm Cyclehoop has introduced a bike rack engineered to encourage commuter cycling, all the while reminding everyone who sees it that bikes take up less space than cars. It’s called the Car Bike Port, and it converts one parking space into a rack that will hold and protect 10 bicycles.
Cyclehoop specializes in the art of “innovative cycle parking infrastructure,” providing creative solutions for urban areas that motivate more people to bike in town. The Car Bike Port, originally commissioned by the London Festival of Architecture, takes that a step further.
