Atlanta artists are creating life-sized hashtags and social media creatures to engage studio creativity

To celebrate the launch of The Daily Share, CNN‘s HLN has commissioned local Atlanta artists to create a series of artistic installations for its studios. The new flagship show relies on social media stats to drive its coverage, and the artwork brings this same concept straight into the HLN workplace.

Social media feeds can be intense and overwhelming, so #nichehashtag was created to display Twitter information as a comprehensive “mood.”

The life-size hashtag sculpture created by Nathan Sharratt uses a custom-made software to collect and scan current information on Tweets. The technology scans the tweets for emotional language, and the overall mood of the Twittersphere is then broadcast via cool and warm color tones.
