Florence Kennedy’s Monday morning starts at 3:30am when she heads to the local market to select fresh and seasonal flowers for Petalon‘s weekly bunches.
The infant company, just two years old, allows customers to choose between one of two weekly bouquets crafted by the founder and shared across social channels come Monday at 9:30am. The independent florist wraps and packs each order in as a DIY-style bouquet and hand-delivers them via bicycle fresh to customers.
Kennedy’s operations evolved after her husband, James Kennedy, started Kennedy City Bicycles. The synergy between their two passions enabled Kennedy to establish Petalon and grow the business by engaging new and existing customers on social media. It also put them on Sol‘s radar, who’ve dubbed the two Local Heroes, as part of a campaign that showcases independent retailers around the world.
