Social Media is Coming to Virtual Reality
Fourthwall Media is releasing a VR app called Swerve, which will allow users to monitor their Twitter feeds in the virtual space
The purchase of Oculus VR by Facebook made the innovation I’m about to tell you about practically inevitable. Those of you whose chief complaint with social media is that you don’t feel immersed enough in it, your cries have been answered by London-based Fourthwall. With its upcoming app, Swerve, you’ll have access to your social media feeds in virtual reality.
Interestingly enough, the first social media behemoth to jump on the content bandwagon for VR isn’t Facebook, it’s Twitter. Due to release later this month, the app features support for various Android-compatible head-mounted displays (HMDs), like Google Cardboard for instance, and will be free to download.
