Startup Aguadrone creates a quadcopter for line fishers and commercial boats that informs them where to find the catch

The Aguadrone is a quadcopter that uses sonar to tell you where the catch is. By testing the waters before casting a net, the startup says they can save a lot of fuel on fishing vessels and improve the chances of big game for line fishers.

The startup behind the tech is based in San Diego California and headed by Daniel Marion who has been fishing for over 51 years. So far, they’ve developed three main functions for their drone.

“When fishing from the beach, surf casting can be a challenge,” Marion tells PSFK, “with the line flier pod, (the drone) makes it easy.”
