Bompas & Parr's science-to-table dinner used acoustic technology and music to enhance food's flavor profile

We all know a good song can make or break the dance floor, but according to recent research, sound apparently does the same for our meals. To further explore how music influences the flavor of food, Sony and culinary research team Bompas & Parr created Sony Multi-Room Sonic Wonderland, a totally immersive series of culinary experiments.

Guests at the East London foodie experience were led through multiple different rooms, sampling food and exposing their ears to a variety of high and low pitched frequencies. Just as the research concluded, food tasted sweeter with high-pitched tones, and more bitter with brassier sounds.
