Brazilian publication Tattoo Art Magazine, in collaboration with the Lew/Lara TBWA agency, created a sketchbook to help novice tattoo artists develop their skills. The Skin Book is made up of pages that resemble the texture of human skin. It enables beginners to test their ideas and create works of art without the usual substitutes such as fruit, animal skin, or friends.

The pages of the limited edition sketchbook are made from a polymer that mimics the feel of human skin. They feature images of different parts of the body so budding tattoo artists can try out their designs and see how they would look.

This unique sketchbook is an innovative idea for new tattoo artists and provides a great way for them to practice safely. If they make a mistake, they can simply try again on a different page. They haven’t permanently inked someone’s skin with a bad design they’ll have to live with or pay to get removed.

The easy-to-use Skin Book means beginners can stop using their friends as human canvases. It could also be used as a portfolio to show off their skills and examples of their work.
