Lexus Australia shows how thrilling it is to drive the Lexus RC F by covering it in biometric paint that visualizes drivers' heartbeats

Lexus Australia and creative agency M&C Saatchi have developed a conceptual project that aims to visualize the connection between a driver and their car. The world’s first vehicle with a heartbeat is a one-off RC F V8 coupe. The car’s body panels are covered in electroluminescent paint developed by the U.S.-based specialist Lumilor.

The driver’s heartbeat is transmitted from a heart rate monitor to a bespoke electrical system inside the RC F, which captures and processes the data before sending an electric charge through the car’s body panels. The innovative paint finish glows when the charge runs through it and displays the driver’s relaxed or racing heartbeat on the bodywork via a real-time animation sequence.
