Businesses can push content as travelers and commuters arrive on site through Place Tips

Facebook Bluetooth beacons will push offers and updating events to customers’ smartphones as soon as consumers enter a business’s door. Through a Bluetooth connection upon entering a business, participants will be welcomed by a series of updates and local events happening through Facebook at the top of their feed. Facebook has dubbed this program is known “Place Tips.”

Place Tips will connect with consumer’s mobile devices, and notify the user of an exclusive offer or message they can view. Visitors will be able to take advantage of these deals or just be made aware of events happening soon. User metrics will allow Place Tips to customize notifications for each user, based on preferences and interests.
