To avoid parking tickets, AwareCar reminds users to go back and pay

A parking ticket will range from $5 up to $50 in different locations throughout the United States. AwareStack, a hardware and software company, has created AwareCar, a device that will fit inside of a user’s glove box to help him-her avoid parking tickets. Users receive updates about how far they’ve gone, the location of their car, when their meter will expire and how long they can expect to have to walk to re-up their time.

The project begins as an application. Aware acts as a remote Bluetooth device connecting to users’ cars automatically. This works through the smartphone and the car’s own electronics, so users don’t have to install any new devices. The size of a coin, AwareCar fits inside of a glove box. Removing it would mean batteries have died or users have switched cars.
