SunPort lets you use solar power at home—without the panels

Solar power has long been touted as a clean, green way to generate electricity. Typically, that means installing large, expensive solar panels, which is not practical for those who cannot afford it or who don’t have the space. But a new device called the SunPort lets you use solar energy, anywhere, and it’s only the size of a three-prong plug.

Here’s how it works: connect SunPort to any three-prong outlet. Then plug in the device or cord to the SunPort. The colorful little widget monitors the amount of electricity that comes through it, then reports that use to your phone.
