Unknowingly, America has a mayonnaise problem. With the arrival of squeezable mayo bottles came the frustration and annoyance of shaking and banging a bottle to get the last of the mayo out. But Hellmann’s seeks to eradicate this so-called “mayonnaise crisis” with a bottle designed to eliminate both waste and frustration.
The older model of squeezable bottles resulted in over 1,000 pounds of mayo being discarded in 2014, according to the brand, which amounts to 32,000 BLTs or 16,000 lobster rolls.
