Smart Clock Pulls Inhabitants Away from Tyranny of the Phone
Modernist Ingrein Smart Clock will notify you if important messages or notifications pop up using lights and sounds
The good news about smartphones is they keep users connected all of the time. The bad news about smart phones is they keep users connected all of the time—even in situations where constantly checking your phone would be rude or otherwise inappropriate. Ingrein Design, a technology and design firm, created the Ingrein Smart Clock to combat that hyperconnectivity by ensuring users won’t miss an important notice while keeping their phones hidden.
Built to blend seamlessly into a living room or home office, the clock’s frame is attractive wood with a minimalist hands-only face. Besides the simple clock components, the clock’s interior includes a Bluetooth receiver, LED lights and a speaker. Once connected to a user’s phone, the clock will use the lights and sound to notify people when an important message has come through.
