BLIP Systems' beacons will provide up-to-date wait times for baggage check, ticket lines, and taxis

Travelers in New York's JFK airport with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals can now get up-to-the-minute updates via time stamps on beacons spaced throughout the facility. The beacons, installed by BLIP Systems, give and receive a two-way time stamp to help mitigate travel-related migraines.

On the server side, the time stamp tells the system how quickly foot traffic is moving through security and other parts of the building. On the user side, the same beacon gives an accurate estimate of how long it will take for a passenger to reach her gate.
