A Pepsi Max ad campaign turned a spherical drone into a friend-finding machine

The new video campaign for Pepsi opens with a heartbreaking statistic: 1 in 3 people lose their friends at music festivals. To end this plague of frantic looking around, it leverages the use of the drone, The Friend Finder, that flies over the crowd to find friends you might have left at the porta potties or at the mobile bar.

Information about the drones, their technology and availability are scarce at the moment and the video might feel a little more staged than a convincing real-life application of the technology. Maybe Pepsi is just putting the idea out there.
