Permobil's modified F5 wheelchair will save lives while also making them easier through power of Internet of Things

The once farfetched idea of device interconnectivity is now journeying to shelves at light speed and on wheels. This year's CTIA wireless industry conference boasted Swedish company Permobil's latest invention, a smart wheelchair that connects to the internet via AT&T services.

Empowering family members by enabling GPS tracking of the unit, relaying diagnostic test results and firing off alerts when the wheelchair gets tipped over, the mechanism is one example of Internet of Things done right.
