The Picnic of the Future Fits in a Space Backpack
Designed for the Picnic 2.0, the Atelier TERATOMA breaks apart into a table, cup holders, tray and thermal cushions
Taking a look at pop culture or the ambitious nature of SpaceX and Mars One makes it pretty obvious we’re obsessed with the future. So it’s not a surprise that Atelier TERATOMA (aka Eugenio Fernández and Victor Nouman) has taken it upon themselves to design an astronaut-inspired backpack for urban dwellers.
The backpack system, labeled an urban picnic prototype, looks just like what an astronaut might wear with its clean, simple and futuristic aesthetic. It folds out into a table, has a solar panel, USB ports, lighting and speakers to play jams on. The backpack also contains a screen where others can send messages directly via Bluetooth and allows smartphone users to recharge their devices.
