The American Association of University Women hired a creative agency to illustrate the gender pay gap through a redesigned $10 bill

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) in collaboration with creative agency Rethink Communications is using the U.S. Treasury's #TheNew10 campaign to illustrate the gender pay gap as well as the disproportionate effect it has on women of color.

The U.S. Treasury recently announced that for the first time in over a century a woman will appear on paper currency. The redesign will be unveiled in 2020 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. While the Treasury has discretion over the redesign, it launched a social media campaign “to hear from the American people and engage in a public dialogue” about the redesign.
