Thanks to some crafty ideation from Hardy Boys and THB Disturbance, eating this snack is the first stage in sustainable fast food

Let’s face it—fast food doesn’t have a great reputation. Beyond the health concerns and sustainability issues, packaging from fast food meals is only slightly behind plastic water bottles as a serious litter and sustainability problem. The Hardy Boys agency, in partnership with THB Disturbance, are offering a partial solution with a fast snack that contributes to sustainability by becoming its own packaging.

The snack in question is edamame: a bite-sized soy bean pod commonly brought out as an appetizer at sushi restaurants and similar Asian food sites. As a fast snack, it’s significantly more health-friendly than french fries or chicken nuggets, but that’s only the beginning of what the team envisions.
