Barnes & Noble finally updates the NOOK but is it enough to compete with other e-readers?

The NOOK GlowLight Plus is the latest e-reader from Barnes & Noble, and it tout itself as waterproof and dust-proof, the device for literati on a trek in the wilderness (or who favor lazing in the swimming pool).

The NOOK GlowLight Plus retails for $130 and comes with a host of other features, like a high resolution, 300 dpi display, a slim (but slightly heavy) aluminum body, and a high-contrast, glare-free and scratch-resistant screen.

Barnes & Noble tells PSFK:

NOOK GlowLight Plus has a durable design to withstand water and dust so customers can read at the beach, in the bathtub or alongside the pool without worry. Featuring NOOK’s slimmest design ever, its sleek, seamless construction and aluminum body make the NOOK GlowLight Plus as beautiful as it is durable for an elegant and enjoyable reading experience that’s perfectly portable for those on-the-go.
