With World AIDS Day aroud the corner, Durex wants your help to make #CondomEmoji a part of our texting vocabulary

Eggplant emoji: meet condom emoji. Durex thinks it's time to add safe sex to the emoji vocabulary. The company is launching a world wide campaign to request condom emojis, using the hashtag #CondomEmoji. The initiative is meant to help young (and old) people talk more candidly about safe sex, and is launched weeks before World AIDS Day to raise sexual health awareness.

According to Karen Chisholm, Marketing Director of Durex USA:

“Emojis of this sort will enable young people to overcome embarrassment around the discussion of safe sex, encourage conversation and raise awareness of the importance of using condoms in protecting against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV and AIDS.”
