Austrian Museum of Applied Arts buys screen saver installation with cryptocurrency, making it the first ever to do so

When Bitcoins were first introduced as a type of currency, most people were confused about how the process worked but were nonetheless intrigued. However, when it turned out that, as a currency, ascertaining it was not as simple as going to an ATM, most people lost interest. However, one museum bought an installation from Berlin-based artist Harm van den Dorpel with the online money, proving that it can be used in real life.
