The Future of Stroke Rehab Could Be Microsoft Kinect
Vera is a FDA-cleared system can make sure patients get results from physical therapy
Vera is a digital medicine system that directs and monitors a patients rehabilitation program through the Microsoft Kinect. Through this, stroke rehab patients can continue their programs at home yet get supervision and a way to record results.
Reflexion Health, the California-based startup behind Vera, cites that patients in musculoskeletal rehabilitation programs can struggle with compliance. Many of them have periodic consultations with therapists where they are instructed to repeat exercises at home. However, this method often ends in non-compliance or beneficial exercises being executed wrong.
