Yahoo! recently announced a virtual reality Flickr app that could lead to more changes in the photo sharing world

Through social media and photo-sharing apps, people around the world can connect and see distant environments through a new lens. Following a recent announcement from Yahoo, we have a clearer picture of how this photo sharing experience will take hold in a near future where VR is a medium of choice.

Yahoo's Flickr VR could change the way that viewers experience 360° photos. In combination with Samsung Gear VR., the Flickr app lets you explore the many angles of a photo. A sample photo shows a natural landscape in which a girl sits on a rock smiling at the photographers. Users can move the photo to mimic the feeling of looking at the image through a VR headset. The technology lets you peek up at the sky, look down at the ground and take in all the other surroundings and sights.
