Adidas’s First-Ever Laceless Soccer Shoe Fits Like a Glove
This bold design leap promises no more risks of tripping on laces
Adidas has officially announced its latest soccer shoe: the Ace 16+ Purecontrol. These football shoes do away with shoelaces using instead a robust knit structure to hug the foot securely.
Without laces, the shoes ensure that the wearer doesn’t have to worry about laces unraveling and tripping them while running in the field. This also makes sure that shoelaces no longer have a chance of getting caught between ball and foot during kicks.
The German sportswear company began spurring talk of laceless soccer shoes last year. Through Instagram accounts of the world’s best players, it showed off a blackout prototype of the Ace 16+ and fans of the brand has since been watching.
