Biometrics Could Become Standard Practice for Dating Apps
If your heart skips a beat, a genuine connection is not far off
In dating apps, the first connection happens based on a photo and a clever description. But Once wants to make that connection more organic by measuring a user's excitement about a potential date through their heart rate.
When it first debuted, Once emphasized its careful process of choosing just one match for users per day. This created a more customized experience than other apps. Now, Once has integrated its technology with Android Wear and Fitbit to create a new matchmaking process. As explained in the app's video, Once strives to “measure your heartbeat right from the very moment you look at the unique profile we bring to you everyday.”
