A less expensive and far easier alternative to trash boats

While the problem of ocean pollution continues to prove a serious challenge, two Australian creators hope to make a difference with a simple solution. The Seabin Project designed an easy-to-use bin that can catch debris from the ocean. The makers hope to spread the word about the project, specifically as an alternate solution to “trash boats.” The latter ultimately costs a lot to operate while the bins would prove less difficult and expensive to use.

Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski hope that the bins will not only collection pollutants, but also raise awareness about the state of ocean water everywhere. The duo teamed up after Ceglinski quit his job as a product designer and decided to focus on tackling ocean pollution.
