U.S. Government’s Connected Car Program Is About More Than the $4 Billion
Though legislation remains a roadblock, self-driving vehicles get a major stamp of approval
You’ve probably heard a lot about self-driving vehicles over the last year, particularly in the Detroit area. Developers and testing teams have made some pretty impressive advancements in the current technologies. At the Detroit Auto Show just a couple of weeks ago, new innovations were unveiled, including Tesla and BMW’s self-parking system.
While it may be several more years before these autonomous vehicles hit the roads, the U.S. government, in conjunction with vehicle developers, is seeking to get a jump on legislation now so that it’s set in place when the time for mass use comes.
