Automotive infotainment systems have come a long way in just the last five years. The development of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has created a more seamless link between smartphones and fixed dashboard displays. With the screen size of phones increasing, it does seem redundant to have a display you carry and a separate one in your car showing the same information. There have already been a couple concept cars produced with removable tablets that double as vehicle instrument displays. Also a lot of older cars still on the road don’t have any kind on digital infotainment system in them at all.
