A dessert about our obsession with 'going viral' joins the Cronut chef's tasting menu

There are many ways to talk about fame in the age of social media but nothing quite does it as fittingly as dessert (read on to find out why). Dominique Ansel, the man behind the notorious cronut, ends his latest experimental menu at U.P.! (unlimited possibilities) with a dessert called “#GoingViral”.

#GoingViral is the strong finish to the meal, but it also ends a chronology in the 7-course program entitled “American Dreams.” The all-desserts feast follows the changing faces of the American dream, starting from the California Gold Rush, the live-for-today spirit of the Roaring 20s, the suburban white picket era, the lavish Bull Market of Wall Street and finally, today’s social media obsession.
