This dating experiment sends smelly t-shirts to help you find love without visual bias

No more browsing online dating profiles. No more swiping left or right to find a match. With Smell Dating, you simply smell a worn t-shirt and pick a date.

Tega Brain, the service's creator, wants people to start using molecular intuition as way to find someone they are attracted to. This project will only consist of 100 participants and will be launched in New York.

When we asked Tega Brain why she decided to create the project, she explained:

“I started doing projects on data visualization years ago and began exploring smell for its potential for being a potent and visceral way of understanding the world. Much of how smell is perceived in humans, remains unknown in science and culturally we have a really low opinion of it…”
