Science-fiction TV channel offers fans collectables that can be made at home

Television merchandise is often a niche product, available at speciality stores or online, meaning time and money spent on transportation or shipping, and that's if it can even easily be found. However, Syfy has created a way for fans of their channel to create merchandise from the comfort of their own homes. In collaboration with 3D printing innovator MakerBot, Syfy Labs has made models based on some of their most popular programming that can be downloaded and reproduced anywhere.

Debuting two new models at the very first Silicon Valley Comic Con in San Jose, CA on March 18, the Voodoo Manufacturing booth which hosted Syfy Labs hosted exemplars of the 12 Monkeys and Hunters. Fans of the show could come up and examine the various 3D Voodoo Manufacturing helped Syfy with the design of the models as well as aid in their production for several events, including this one.
