Personalizing jewelry by infusing each piece with a piece of the owner — literally

When it comes to gift giving and jewelry, personalization makes a huge difference. Think back to times of youth: everything from matching best friend necklaces to special lockets to memorialize your crush played big roles in marking life moments.

One company wants to take the idea of personalization even further by integrating DNA into jewelry. Identity Inside lets customers infuse pieces with a bit of DNA. As the website explains, the inside of the ring contains ‘fossilized DNA' which is then “closed and protected by a 0.02 ct diamond.” This allows the user to wear the ring every day as they would any other, standard ring.
