Remote-Controlled Dresses and Molecular Shoes On Display in Boston
At #techstyle, fashion and the future of tech merge in real-time
From pieces that make a political statement to ones that include interactive elements, creators continue to make fashion items that merge the intricacies of fashion with the power of technology. In the hands of each maker, fashion and technology come together to create conceptual, aesthetic possibilities that might not otherwise exist.
To chronicle some of these game-changing projects, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) organized the exhibition #techstyle.
The exhibition features more than 60 works, ranging from videos to fashion accessories and photographs. They also highlight a diverse range of makers, including both emerging and household names like Alexander McQueen, Ralph Lauren, SHOWstudio, CuteCircuit, Issey Miyake, New Balance and Marcus Tomlinson. The group includes international creators, making it a testament to the popularity of experimentation within the fashion and tech spheres around the world.
