This watch's sculptured design adds depth to a simple timepiece

The latest design for watch brand Movado originated with one main consideration in mind: how to design a three-dimensional watch face that would quickly draw in a viewer’s eye.

The result—the Movado Edge collection—is inspired by the movement of the sun throughout the day, as it attempts to recreate the shimmering quality of constantly changing reflections of light, only on a much smaller scale. The watch face consists of 60 subtle, textured ridges arranged in a circular pattern along the circumference of the face, with a very thin bezel that showcases the negative space on the aluminum surface.
