Online Community Taps Female Leaders to Help Teens Develop Better Self-Image
Multicultural website is a publication that offers positive stories for and by real girls
Media portrayal of how women should look, act and be has reached a tipping point—it’s unrealistic and it’s damaging to younger generations. How does one combat it? You start a community that challenges every media norm targeted at young girls and women. Enter Metiza, a new positive online community focused on inspiring and encouraging young women to be their best selves.
The Seattle-based platform was founded by serial entrepreneur Selina Petosa along with Editor-in-Chief Paige Bird; the new site offers teens an online destination to read authentic stories of substance and features articles focused on topics relevant to girls including relationships, wellness, education, art, science, culture as well as entrepreneurship and business.
