Getty Images gears up for the second year of its filter-friendly grant-giving

While Instagram is ripe with pretty food photos and #ootd posts, it’s also becoming a wide-reaching platform for talented photojournalists around the world. Getty Images is now letting Instagrammers submit their profiles and get a chance to be one of the three recipients of $10,000-grants as well as an ongoing Getty Images mentorship.

The contest focuses on photographers who tell socially-relevant stories, becoming voices to underrepresented communities who don’t get headlines or front pages. Now on its second year, the grant will add two additional categories considering art and video portfolios following trends on the photo sharing platform.
