No more cold showers: sensors diagnose heater problems and calls the pros

British Gas, the UK’s leading energy and home services provider, has launched an innovative new technology for the home. Boiler IQ was developed in collaboration with an ex-NASA scientist and is the first product in the UK to remotely take data directly from sensors inside a boiler in order to detect faults. This pre-emptive approach to identifying and diagnosing any problems could potentially alert an engineer even before a boiler stops working, calling them out for you and letting them know what replacement parts might be needed. This could mean the end of cold showers due to boilers breaking, as faults would be fixed much quicker than normal.
