Advancing Automotive AI With The World’s First Fully Autonomous Race
The electric and AI-driven vehicle will roll out during the Formula E tournament this year
With the creation of Formula E, a racing tournament for electric cars, comes a more environmentally sound version of the luxurious Formula 1 races. Not only do they work to transport their attendees by public transportation and have noise levels of only 80 decibels, but also the tournament also has seen the introduction of electric trucks and autonomous racing car.
The event is an opportunity for individuals like Denis Sverdlov, founder of battery manufacturer Kinetik and RoboRace, the world’s first driverless electric car competition where 10 teams will be competing this year; the cars will all be identical in their industrial design and API with the competing team’s algorithms being the only difference. Kinetik is part of a team that will introduce the world’s first autonomous car racing this year in a collaboration with vehicle designer Daniel Simon. This collaboration signifies an initial introduction of driverless cars into the sports entertainment world.
