This UK bar has a built-in strategy for women who need to bail on uncomfortable meet-ups

If you are active on online dating sites, you have probably experienced this at least once: The conversation drags like a history exam you haven’t studied for and their looks make you curse Photoshop. In other words, you are on a bad date.

Bartenders at The Brickyard in an English city of St. Albans have you covered. All you have to do is go to the bar and ask for Rachel or Jennifer and they will take it from there and even call you a taxi. “Your safety and happiness is our highest priority,” a sign hanging in a female bathroom reads. “If anyone is bothering you or making your feel uncomfortable please tell us. We will discretely move them away and if necessary ask them to leave.” For now the secret service is only available for female customers, but given the overwhelming demand, the bar may soon offer rescue options for men too.

If you don’t live in St. Albans, but could also use a hand in escaping a bad date, don’t worry. App stores are filled with options to choose from.
