The Budapest Festival Orchestra lets passers-by create their own entertainment

Orchestra directors and organizers try to think of new innovative ways to add some diversity to the sea of grey hair that often makes up their audiences. An interactive ad campaign in Hungary targeted at young people to interact with posters that allow them to conduct the Budapest Festival Orchestra with their smartphone.

The posters, sponsored by Budapest Festival Orchestra and Hungarian Telekom are meant to inspire enthusiasm for classical-music performance. By using their smart phone as a baton in front of the posters that shows a video of the orchestra playing, individuals are able to control the tempo of the music based on the speed of their gesticulation.
