Amazon released the plans for a smaller version of their Amazon Echo device, and now Google is working on a replica

When the Amazon Echo came out last year, it gave the ability to connect multiple smart devices, play audio files, turn on lights, hear weather and traffic reports, and more without touching a single button. Say ‘Alexa,' and state your command, and it shall be done.

In January, Amazon started talking about their smaller, more portable, and cheaper version of the Echo. The Echo Dot is a digital voice assistant that could be carried around in a pocket, just like a smartphone. It's small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of the hand and is less expensive than the full Echo.
