How Students Are Being Rewarded For Not Using Their Phones
Pocket Points has grown to a user base of over 500k students at 100+ schools
While many apps want to take up as much of your time as possible, this one wants to keep your phone in your pocket. Pocket Points is an app that rewards students who don’t use their phones while in school.
It works using geofencing. A school’s campus is enclosed on the GPS map. Once a student enters the perimeter, they can start earning points which they can use to purchase rewards. To use, they open the app and lock their phone. Points accrue as you leave your phone alone. Every time they check on their phone, the timer resets after awarding the number of points they’ve earned during that session.
