Now that artificial light is so common in our everyday lives—from the office where we work to the space where we eat and drink to our rooms at home—many designers are thinking of how we can benefit from sunlight. Sunlight, after all, supplies humans with many benefits (in the right doses). The team behind Ario—a smart lamp that uses one-fifth of the energy utilized by incandescent lighting—wants to make the home lamp more beneficial to users than it is now.
