Camera Provides Old-School Instant Photography That Feels Modern
An instant camera that combines retro design with contemporary technology
German company Impossible Project created its first instant camera. The camera named Impossible Project I-1 artfully combines modern technology with a design that feels both contemporary and reminiscent of Polaroid camera instant photography.
The design of the camera is informed mostly by function. The sloping protrusion of the camera allows for light to travel and bounce off a mirror inside the camera onto the film. The flat base of the camera holds metal rollers that squeeze out chemicals inside the film allowing the image to develop before spitting out the photograph through the front slot of the camera.
